Chris Turnbull-Grimes, P.E.
Before co-founding 3BL, Chris spent the better part of a decade volunteering on water and sanitation projects with Peace Corps and Engineers Without Borders in Kenya and El Salvador. After returning from Peace Corps, he returned to Colorado and worked as a civil engineer, eventually earning his Professional Engineering license in 2014.
In 2011, Markos co-founded iceaddis, the first technology driven co-working space in Ethiopia. In the subsequent years, he helped found multiple companies and provided consulting and mentoring to a slew of local startups and hosted a TedTalk on "Innovation and High-Tech, Hyper Local". In addition to bringing experience with startups to 3BL, Markos has headed up the design of the business model and fundraising for our pilot project.
Before developing Flowius, Nati was a lead developer with AhadooTec, the premier mobile application firm in Ethiopia. While there, he developed Android applications like Fidel, an e-learning platform for high schools, and over 20 applications for the Ethiopian government. Born and raised in Addis Ababa, Nati is a graduate of Addis Ababa University with a B.Sc. in Computer Science.
Melat joined 3BL and Flowius while earning her B.A. in Management and her B.Sc. in Computer Science. An Addis Ababa native, she has not only learned a host of programming languages, but has also led and actively participated in the Youth Alliance for Leadership Development in Africa and the Addis Ababa Model United Nations. Melat has shown strong desire to help her fellow Ethiopians by volunteering with the local YWCA and the Hanna Orphans Home in Addis Ababa.
